Summer Research Opportunities

Undergraduates can choose to pursue summer research opportunities

– at the University of Oregon:

SPUR – The UO)Summer Program for Undergraduate Research (SPUR) provides fellowship opportunities for undergraduate students from other Universities and Colleges to participate in ongoing research in Life Sciences laboratories at UO during the Summer months.

OURS – UO students participating in SPUR do so through the OURS program (Oregon Undergraduate Researchers in SPUR). OURS offers fellowship opportunities for current UO undergraduate students who are already placed in a laboratory to participate in ongoing research in life sciences laboratories at UO during the summer months.

– through the Center for Sustainable Materials Chemistry:

CSMC Summer Research Program/SMaRT Camp
A 9 week summer program in sustainable materials science. Students attend a one week tutorial called the Sustainable Materials Research Training (SMaRT) Camp and then perform research in Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering at CSMC host labs.
